Dr. Arthur Caplan chairs the Department of Medical Ethics, is the Emanuel and Robert Hart Professor of Bioethics, professor of molecular and cellular engineering, professor of philosophy, and the director of the Center for Bioethics at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Caplan's most recent book is entitled Ethics and Organ Transplants. Dr. Caplan's expertise is eagerly sought-after by governments, the media, and industries who need his insight on genetics cloning, genetic testing, stem cell research, transplants, artificial organs, genetically engineered foods & medicine, the consequences of reversing aging and retooling the human brain. He is author or editor of 24 books including Am I My Brother's Keeper? and Moral Matters: Ethical Issues in Medicine and Life Science. Dr. Caplan lectures widely in the United States, Europe, Russia and the Caribbean, and is a frequent commentator in the media including National Public Radio, ABC-Nightline, the New York Times, CNN, the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, Fox Television, and the Philadelphia Inquirer. Dr. Caplan also writes a regular column on bioethics for MSNBC.com . Dr. Caplan holds a doctorate from Columbia University.
